Description
The Rise and Fall of a Very Bad Girl recounts the story, told from the grown-up narrator’s point of view, of a brief time when Serena, Audrey, and Marl ruled their senior year of high school in an unnamed suburban town filled with both affluence and temptation. When a plot to kill their parents, a tongue-in-cheek wish of a spoiled rich kid, Marl, goes horribly wrong, Serena learns that trusting her best friend, and falling in love with new girl, Audrey, will change the course of her life and those around her in ways that she never saw coming.

Review Quotes
“A voice so authentic, you can’t help but feel their (the characters’) pain.” Vicki Pipher-Moore
“The most addictive book I’ve seen in ages. I had to keep turning the pages.” Janeen Gzesh
“(This book is) the America whose reflection we try to hide, much to our own undoing. Burns captures this, unabashed and unapologetic, without offering a solution but making us look at ourselves at our worst.” Jim Phoenix
“A fun, plausible glimpse into the world the popular kids inhabit, cocktails in hand, fake bored nonchalance written all over them. (I) rooted for their eventual fall from grace.” Lamar Jenkins
